Amplifier Type Generally a 2-channel (dual) amp is used for powering 2 speakers. A 4-channel (multi) amp will drive either 4 speakers, 2 subwoofers, or 2 speakers and a single subwoofer. Mono amps are designed specifically for low-frequency reproduction.
